A Time of Remembrance

"For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come." ~1 Corinthians 11:26

This verse talks about what we refer to as "The Lord's Supper" which is done in remembrance of the sacrifice of God when Jesus died on the cross.  This sacred act which helps remind us of what Christ did for us is also a reminder of how it began.  Though at that moment we may be remembering our sin and the blood that was shed to cover it, how can we forget the fact that the blood came from someone who began as a baby.

God loved us so much today that He sent His son to die for us back then.  Even from the very beginning God had a plan for Jesus to come to earth and be born as a baby, to grow up in this world as a human being, but still God.  The Spotless Lamb that would take away the sins of the world.  The most precious gift in the form of a child.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ today, let us remember, not just His human beginning, but the ending that saves us from our sins and the full penalty of them.  There is only one way to be able to live with our Heavenly Father, and it began with a small child.

Merry Christmas to all.  Have a beautiful and blessed day.
